Laugavegur Trek – Day 2

Laugavegur Day 2: Hrafntinnusker – Álftavatn

• Distance, Time: 12 km, 4 – 5 hours
• Elevation decrease: 490 m
• The first part of the trail takes through a valley with some small ravines – based on our experience this section was filled with snow
• Highest point at around midday – lovely view (see third picture)
• Via main track, you’ll soon leave the colourful rhyolite mountains and enter area with dark palagonite mountains with an increase in greenery!
• There is a steep descent at the 2nd half of the trek, which at this point you should be able to see lake Alftavatn in view
• Last few kilometers to the huts by the lake Álftavatn is on flat land
